Eurovision Madness
OK I will admit it, I Love the Eurovision song contest. Actually that is not quite true, I really like taking the piss out of it. This year however I decided to try and work out an RPG Session seed for every song.
I was drinking. What can I say! Having spent an inordinate amount of time on this I am now wishing I hadn’t said I would do this. I should stress that some of these were inspired by the song, some by the lyrics, and some by the somewhat bizarre stage show!
However here are my ideas.

Adventure Seed:
A fallen angel has been travelling the world seducing women, and when he leaves the women are changed. Occasionally they turn into rampaging furies, their eyes leaking flaming tears, utterly unstoppable and violent. When they are not furies they can be told by a strange burned sigil on the back of their necks in the shape of a circle with a rose stem covered in thorns through it. To change them back they must be captured, their hands bound in silk and leather and then forced to look in a mirror as they transform.

Adventure seed:
The Fae have played a trick on Harry Prendergast, he made a deal with one of them to allow him to change the world for the better, but the Fae are tricksy so when he asked to be able to “walk in greatness” they agreed, but they also told him that he would need to put his best foot forward. Now each morning when he steps out of his house, if he uses his left foot then everything will go well in the world, if he uses his right then there will be disasters and cataclysms.

Adventure seed:
When Quetzacoatl made the world for the fourth time, he made an effort to reconcile with his arch enemy Tezcatlipoca who had made the previous world that he had destroyed. In an attempt to stop this world from being destroyed Quetzacoatl married Tezcatlipoca and they lived together in south America. They watched with no small amusement the run up to the “end of the Mayan calendar” and even travelled to Rio di Janeres to take part in a carnivale there. They didn’t expect to get mugged, and Quetzacoatl was shot, and is now gravely injured. As the clock ticks towards midnight someone must save him or Tezcatlipoca in his rage will destroy the world confirming the prophecies.

Adventure seed:
Princess Hiressa is engaged to be married to Prince Verrick of the nearby kingdom, the wedding has been pushed onto both parties by their respective kings, and it does not sit well with either of them. The Prince is far too in love with himself to really love anyone else, and spends his time constantly preening and hunting. The Princess Hiressa meanwhile is far more in love with the Princes younger sister Princess Marinne. The night before the Wedding not only are the various couples attempting to meet, but also the men of King Tristian have sneaked into the castle to make trouble.

Adventure seed:
Planet fall has been made on a strange planet called Okabry. It has unfortunately been achieved by the ship crashing into it face first. Even more importantly the planet is no such thing. Instead it was long ago an alien races pleasure planet, psychically controlled by its “owner”. It has been waiting for a new master ever since.

On the 14th of May every year a ghost appears in the Longwood, a woman with an arrow clean full her chest runs through the wood. Anyone who sees her feels the pain of the arrow, and any she runs through have a fatal heart attack. Every one in the town knows the girl is Merry Tallows, but what they do not know is that she was the sweetheart of one of the McHann clan who live in the deep woods. They didn’t like Young Gamm carrying on with a town girl, and so they hunted her through the woods. Gamm had a chance to save her but couldnt bring himself to shoot his father. If only he could be brought to do that she would be laid to rest.

Adventure seed:
In Scotland on the last day of winter every door could lead to a strange place, a place where the gods of the seasons play poker to determine the weather and fate of the year to come. One mortal is always present, an unfortunate that stepped through the door at the wrong time, and who is never told all of the rules of the game. This year however someone has performed a ritual to ensure they are chosen, and none of the Gods know why (although it worries them)

Adventure seed:
It is the 1920’s and all over Europe people are disappearing, all socialites and all recently heartbroken. They disappear without a trace from streets and bistros and leave no sign of their passing. The truth is that they have been taken to a pocket dimension called Saloyah, ruled over by the Inventor Parsimal Jenks. Jenks takes them to the dimension where there is a riotous party going on all the time. However the device that keeps the dimension in existence runs off the energy provided by the party, and the socialites are beginning to feel the strain.

Adventure Seed:
Jeremy does indeed work in IT, but on the weekends he is a technomancer, performing magic through the medium of high technology. In particular he has been experimenting with time travel but so far has only been able to create a time window, allowing him to look into the future. It is there in the future that he saw Desdemona, a wonderful adept of the New god of Technology. Watching from afar he has fallen in love with her, and despite the potential damage to the time lines has decided to make a device to take him to her.

Adventure Seed:
USA 1952 the height of the second Red scare. The secret service is concerned as many people have been turned who were previously considered to be totally solid. The only thing in common… they all visited the same nightclub and listened to the song of Ivana Tsincomp. It is this song, and her own psychic abilities that have turned them to the side of the communists.

Adventure Seed: What happens when two superheroes fall in love? Great things. However when one of them dies? It gets bad, very very bad indeed. Which is what happened with The Iron Bolt and Vesperina. When Vesperina was killed by Doctor Erasmus Bale, Iron Bolt went a little off the rails first killing the Doctor and then retreating from the world. Now however he is back and he is using his powers to attempts to literally set the world on fire. Someone better stop him but it’s not easy when dealing with a man wh can run at the speed of light and turn into iron at will.

Adventure Seed: The Yuran have arrived above the world, having listened to Earth’s radio transmissions and watched our television broadcasts. 70 years of wars and death have convinced the Yuran that we cannot be trusted with our own destiny. Their vessels have arrived in orbit, their peacekeepers are in every city and town, they tell us they know best and will make sure that we never harm ourselves agin. But many people think the aliens are heavy handed and that people have been dissappearing for the slightest infractions. It’s only a matter of time before someone takes action.

Adventure Seed: The kingdom is cursed, everywhere the birds fall from the sky the ground is poisoned, the trees die, and the peasants are afraid, deathly afraid. Every morning another peasant is found dead in their beds, with no marks on them, clutching their blankets with a look of terror on their face. No one knows why. The King has offered half the kingdom to anyone who can break the curse. The reason for the curse is quite simple however, the king killed his neighbour Lord Araldas in a border conflict, and his wife, the Lady of the Forest Irriande has levied the curse to force the King to feel as she does.

Adventure Seed: A vampire has arisen in Paris, and has begun to influence the Emperor and his court. Napoleon is enamoured, and the vampire has offered his bloodslaves to help with the invasion of England. All he asks in return is a supply of young willing men, and an audience for his opera. Wellington however has got wind of the up coming invasion and has dispatched a squad of his own… supernaturals, to deal with the Vampire.

Adventure Seed: Jeremiah Crake has a guardian angel, the spirit of a woman who keeps himk safe from all harm. The issue is, there seems to a large amount of harm around Jeremiah Crake. First his house burned down killing all of his servants, but the ghostly woman led him safely from the house, then the tea clipper he was travelling to the Orient on, suddenly sank, but again the spirit led him to safety. Now however Jeremiah Crake has fallen in love, and his intended, Georgette Mason, has started to suffer increasing number of accidents. The spirit has taken a dislike to her, and must be dealt with!

Adventure Seed: Shindo Karasika the CEO of Harvinda Corporation leads an utterly charmed life. Several times in the past few years killers hired by other corporations have had Shindo at their mercy, only for strange occurances to save his life. Bombs fail to explode, bullets are deflected by buttons, knives are suddenly found to be blunt, and Shindo survives. Now however the rival Yulong corporation has found out how the trick is achieved. Shindo has a sister, to whom through esoteric magic and strange technology he has been linked. When he is injured she suffers the damage and he is saved. Now Yulong want a team to enter the specialist medical facility where she is kept and “free” her. That this will most likely kill Shindo is purely a secondary concern.

Adventure Seed: Charles Montgomery Jackson has started acting unusual. He has given up his job at Lloyds of London, sold his house in Kensington and retreated to his family estate in Shropshire. His friends and family are worried about him, and have asked the Investigators to look into it. The truth is he has been seduced by someone he believes is a faerie, but is in fact an avatar of Nyalathotep called the Drawer of the Veil. It tricks men into falling in love with it and slowly drains them of imagination and motivation by subjecting them to wild visions and dreams.

Adventure Seed: The twin empires of Sherusand and Vehineress where originally one great star empire. When the Eternal Lord finally fell from his throne however his two advisors the Red Marble Hegemon and the Jet Erudine Warlord took command of the empire but soon their differences tore it apart. Since then the twin empires have ripped into each other time and time again causing endless hardship to their people. The empires are both now on the verge of collapse, but another lord has arisen who is attempting to drive them into the last cataclysmic war.

Adventure Seed: Thor has left Asgard, to travel the world and learn what it means to be a human, all as part of a trick by Loki. However while he is away Asgard has come under attack and with no thunder god the Aesir are hard pressed. To replace him Odin has travelled to the world to find the four greatest human heroes and raise them to godhood to fill the gap. To do this he has arranged a tournament, and invite every great warrior in Midgard to it.

Adventure Seed: Tesseract corporation has designed the first true AI, and have installed it at the base of their massive open mining pit known as Mamadov-14. The nanite-engine that builds the AI has been primed and has begun the unfolding process that will unshackle the AI and set it loose on the Internet, whereupon it will almost certainly play the stock exchange and bring Tesseract to the forefront of all corporations in the world. Which is why Meridiatech has hired a bunch of ne-er-do-wells to wingsuit to the bottom of the shaft and destroy the nanite engine, preferably before the AI and it’s autodefences awake.

Adventure Seed: In retrospect, Pirates robbing a rum Holk was possibly not the best plan ever. Having been adrift for, an indeterminate length of time that seems to have been at least eight days, they are adrift in seas none of them actually recognise. The Islands are covered in all sorts of outlandish creatures from 6 metre tall carivorous birds to two foot tall pygmies with poisoned dart guns. Worse still. The Rum Is Gone!

Adventure Seed: It is not really what you expect when on a sixth form skiing holiday in the Ukraine, for the most popular girl in the class to be kidnapped by an honest to goodness giant. Now the huge creature has carried the screamng Jennie off into the mountains, and she needs to be rescued! Perhaps the people in the village the students passed through last night might be able to help, but they might not be willing to given the actions of the students the night before…

Adventure Seed: There are 24 of them, the essential souls, always present on the world and required to keep it safe. Finally when the Deamons finally attack the 24 come to their full powers to defend the world. However, the 24 have spent hundred even thousands of years trapped on the world, unable to escape and kept alone by the knowledge of what they are. As such the 24 Essential souls have been driven quite mad, and are almost as dangerous to the mankind that they are supposed to defend as the demons they are fighting

Adventure Seed: The woods near Tattershall castle are filled with creatures. Lithe, pale with delicate features and pointed ears, the creatures lure the unwary deeper into the forest with promises of love and joy. Eventually they draw their chosen victim into a cobweb swathed clearing laden with fine foods and silk pillows. Anything the victim wants they can have, but soon the kisses of the Aelves turn to nibbles and then bites, and the young swarm down from the cobwebs to join the feast. Adventure Seed: The Professors experiments into the collective unconcious, what Lovecraft refered to as the dreamlands have started to bear fruit. Now however he is prepared to take the next step, actual human trials of his apparatus. The test subjects have been chosen very carefully ass all of their minds will be joined together and any psychosis would harm them all greatly. Which makes it a great shame that Timothy Stebbins falsified his test results to ensure his presence on the experiment as he believes it will allow him to see the face of god. However what is much more likely is that all of them will be plunged into a horrible nightmare dreamland.

Adventure Seed: The world has ended. In fact, the world ended a long long time a go, but it has been engaged in a long slow decline into nothingness. Now however it has reached the point of no return. There are no settlements, no groups larger than four or five people, no food and no supplies. However an ancient colony ship has sent a message saying that it is returning to the homeworld and can pick up some survivors. It will only take a few however, and only those that would be of benefit to the Colony. Its criteria is corrupt however, the only message it will give on its criteria is that “Love survives”.
